Xpreza Injection is used in the treatment of some kinds of blood cancer. It is used for the treatment of adult patients with all subtypes of Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). It may be also used to treat other conditions, as determined by the doctor. Xpreza is indicated for treatment of patients with the following myelodysplastic syndrome subtypes: refractory anemia or refractory anemia with ringed sideroblasts (if accompanied by neutropenia or thrombocytopenia or requiring transfusions), refractory anemia with excess blasts. This medication is used to treat a group of blood/bone marrow disorders (myelodysplastic syndromes-MDS) in which the bone marrow does not produce enough healthy blood cells. People with MDS usually have problems such as infections, anemia, and easy bleeding/bruising. Azacitidine is a chemotherapy drug.
